7E00BR40 Interprofessional teamwork and leadership - simulation training (10 cr)
Prerequisites Performed the studies of Advanced Level Prehospital Emergency Care, Leadership and Cooperation between authorities or corresponding information.
Objectives The student knows the paramedic's tasks in emergency care of out hospital obstetric and paediatric emergencies. Student can apply non-technical skills in the emergency care of obstetric and paediatric emergencies. Student recognizes the signs of possible violent behavior of the client/patient, and can act in a professional way
Student is able to apply professional interaction skills in challenging situations with the patients´ next of kin.
Student evaluate whole situations and make fast justifiable decisions in critical conditions that applies the CRM principles. Student is able to communicate clearly and intelligibly when leading emergency care in the training situations. Student can apply principles, techniques,materials, equipment and strategies which are used in management multiple emergency crews in operative training situations.
Student is able to do quick tactical decisions when leading many- patient- situations in rehearsal.Student knows how to act as a medicinal situation leader in the major incident practice.
Content Emergency labour outside hospital, newborns reviving. Mother's hypovolemia and its emergency care. Unclear collapsing of the child's general condition and its emergency care. Emergency care of the child's convulsions. Child's CPR. Managing violence and violent situations. Encountering a Challenging Next of Kin. Challenging situations in pair work and team management.
Work safety as part of the emergency care. Medicinal situation management as a concept. Knowledge requirements of medicinal situation leader in multiple casualties. CRM as instrument of the management. CRM and patient safety: Human factors, stress, communication, decision-making, situation awareness. Operative leadership in many-patient-situations and major incident. Management on separate lanes. Map rehearsal. Management of special emergency situations.
