7E00BN35 Leadership and Interprofessional Cooperation in Prehospital Emergency Care (6 cr)
Prerequisites Performed the studies of the emergency care of the basic level (or the corresponding information).
Objectives Student can assess the leading principles of administrative, economical and juridicial control of the emergency care. Student is capable to manage many patient situations and appropriately triage trauma victims. Student can describe the ways of action of the authorities in normal and in state of emergency. Student can describe the plans that have been made for the multiple casualties and for the unusual conditions especially from emergency care perspective. Student is able to apply the CRM principles when leading emergency care in the training situations. Student is able to describe the police-led special tasks in emergency care and the tactical emergency care. Student can help patients and their relatives to reach social support services. Student is capable to define the advanced level paramedic possibilities of influencing and resources on job in hospital district and socially. Student is able to describe how to establish safe environments for practice, which minimise risks to service users, those treating them and others,including the use of hazard control.
Content Organizations of the emergency care, operation systems and management. Situation management as a concept and in multiple casualties. The leader's knowledge requirements. Quality control of the emergency care. Work safety in the emergency care. Hazard control and risk management. Management in multiple casualties. CRM as instrument of the management. CRM and patient safety: Human factors, stress, communication, decision-making, situation awareness. Cooperation between authorities from point of view of the emergency care: emergency exchange, rescue operation, social authorities, police, border guard, sea rescue authorities and aviation authorities. Rescue Service system and its ways of action. The progress of the emergency situation and control of the accident area. Out-of-hospital trauma triage. Virve-telephone and computer based data transfer. Social emergencies.
