7E00BM53 | Practical Training in Basics of Clinical Nursing (6 cr) |
Prerequisites | Student has passed the Basics in Clinical Nursing course and Farmacology and Medication course. |
Objectives | Student is able to recognize the patient`s needs for nursing. He/she can plan, implement and assess nursing as a professional member of a multiprofessional team. Student is able to assess and advise the patient to manage daily activities. Student has gained skills to perform basic nursing. He/she follows the procedures under aseptic conditions and takes proper ergonomics into account. Student has gained basic skills for examining and observing patient. He/she masters the care of the deceased. Student can give reports on his/her own patient both orally and in writing, takes responsibility for his/her nursing. Student demonstrates ability to interact in a professional way with patient. |
Content | Assisting patient in daily activities; Basic nursing care skills; Patient examination and observation. The most common laboratory tests. Asepsis and ergonomics. Care of the deceased. Written care plan. Written and oral reporting. Basics of electronic reporting. |
