7E00BM53 Practical Training in Basics of Clinical Nursing (6 cr)
Prerequisites Student has passed the Basics in Clinical Nursing course and Farmacology and Medication course.
Objectives Student is able to recognize the patient`s needs for nursing. He/she can plan, implement and assess nursing as a professional member of a multiprofessional team. Student is able to assess and advise the patient to manage daily activities. Student has gained skills to perform basic nursing. He/she follows the procedures under aseptic conditions and takes proper ergonomics into account. Student has gained basic skills for examining and observing patient. He/she masters the care of the deceased. Student can give reports on his/her own patient both orally and in writing, takes responsibility for his/her nursing. Student demonstrates ability to interact in a professional way with patient.
Content Assisting patient in daily activities; Basic nursing care skills; Patient examination and observation. The most common laboratory tests. Asepsis and ergonomics. Care of the deceased. Written care plan. Written and oral reporting. Basics of electronic reporting.
