Prerequisites | No prerequisites needed. |
Objectives | The student demonstrates ability to perform the most common histopathology and cytology products and stains. The student has gained basic knowledge about tissue and cell types. He/she has developed skills needed to the microscopic identification of tissue and cell types and the quality assessment of tissue sections and specimens for exfoliative cytology. The student is able to perform the examination of specimens for cervical cytology and distinguish normal findings from the pathological ones. |
Content | Pathology: collection of a specimen. Diagnostic histopathology and cytology: methods, normal histology of tissues; staining; immunohistochemistry for diagnostic purposes; basics of cytologic diagnostics. Quality assurance in pathology. |
