Description


O1005BA Laboratory Techniques and Instrumentation I (3 cr)
Prerequisites No prerequisites needed.
Objectives The student has knowledge of the basic laboratory techniques and demonstrates ability to use the basic laboratory instruments. The student familiarizes him/herself with the basics of occupational health and safety and develops skills for being able to transform knowledge of environmental and occupational safety into practice.
Content Basic laboratory equipment and apparatus. Measuring, weighing and centrifugation. Pipetting and pipetting ergonomy. Care of instruments. Chemical occupational safety; biological risk factors; electrical and radiation safety; fire safety. Basics of waste management. Industrial safety legislation.
