Assessment Methods and Criteria
Grading takes place during the course and can be divided into three main parts: 1) final cultural presentation, 2) participation and completion of the tasks and activities, 3) learning journal.

The course contains both class activities and independent tasks including a learning journal.

In general classes are once a week during period 3 and in the beginning of period 4.

This implementation in spring is for degree and exchange students in general (if timetable fits).
In addition, this course is scheduled for exchange students in building services, energy technology, agriculture and rural industries, web development, information technology double degree programmes (mandatory), music and dance, as well as health and social care.

Evaluation criteria accepted
1-2: Student shows some understanding of cultural concepts and is able to complete some of the activities and tasks. The student is able to function in a multicultural environment to some degree.
3-4: Active participation. Most of the tasks and activities completed in time. The student shows understanding of cultural concepts and is able pinpoint cultural aspects on superficial level or deeper. The student is able to reflect their own behavior to some degree and see some cultural aspects in it.
5: Active participation and motivation. Deadlines respected. Assignments completed with a thought which means that the student can demonstrate understanding of cultural concepts and is able to reflect and pinpoint cultural aspects in life to be able to adapt and operate in different cultures.

Evaluation criteria failed
Lack of motivation, no active participation in the learning activities. Deadlines/schedules not respected.
