The grading is based on the assignments the student returns and the presentations.
List of assignments to be returned:
- Reading task about cultural patterns from Myron W. Lustig & Jolene Koester: Intercultural Competence, Interpersonal Communication Across Cultures and discussing cultural patterns of one's own culture.
- Case study: discussing cultural elements in a life situation.
- Written assignment about the differences between East and West
- Study material about Sámi culture and a task related to the material.
- Reading task about cultural value orientation from Christoph Köck, Juliana Roth, Beatrix Andrée, Marc Hermeking, Galina Dr. Koptelzewa, Juliana Prof. Dr. Roth, Gregor Dr. Sterzenbach, Christine Dr. Tuschinsky: Culture Communication Skills
- Writing learning journal (about what was discussed in classes such as assimilation, adaptation, interpretation, observation, stereotypes, Lewis model, cultural dimensions, and about personal experiences relating to cultural competences.
Presentations:
- A cultural dimension
- A phenomenon or item from student's own culture with cultural perspective (cultural dimension, values, norms, social practices)
