ON00DU83 Client-centered Approach to Health Promotion (3 cr)

Objectives The student is able to:

• recognize the significant role of nurses in health-promoting activities in primary healthcare services, specialized medical care services, and civil society activities;
• analyze the stages of behavior and its impact on patient care;
• develop health-promoting skills using digital tools; and
• discuss guidelines in community-based health promotion to prevent non-communicable diseases.

•Stages of Health Behavior Change (Transtheoretical Model)
•Community-based Health Promotion
•Social Determinants of Health
•Tobacco Control and Alcohol Regulations
•Discharge instructions for health promotion
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods The course includes project work and hybrid presentations.
Execution methods The course will encompass both theoretical instruction and skills development. The theoretical aspect will include hybrid lectures and international collaboration opportunities. In the realm of skills development, there will be a hybrid seminar series alongside written assignments designed to cultivate critical thinking skills.
