OB00EE22	Practical Training in Biomedical Laboratory Science III (11 cr)
Prerequisites	Not applicable
Objectives	The student improves his/her knowhow in the area of laboratory services and laboratory research processes. The student gains knowledge of laboratory safety and learns to act in extraordinary situations. He/she identifies areas of improvement in co-operation with the laboratory personnel.
Content	Practical training according to the personal study plan in one of the following areas: Clinical physiology and isotope medicine, clinical neurophysiology, hematology, blood transfer, diagnostic histopathology and sytology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology or genetics. Practical training can also take place in a research group or in another laboratory.
Recommended optional programme components	If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.

Evaluation Criteria	pass/fail -The student is able to take and handle different samples taking into account pre-analytical factors. -The student has become familiar with the organisation, facilities and duties of the laboratory, the laboratory tests carried out in the laboratory and the clinical significance of the tests. -The student has been able to use the theoretical knowledge acquired in the laboratory and to perform the tasks assigned in cooperation with the supervisors. -The student has taken into account patient and workplace safety, ergonomics and workplace rules. -The student's work shows a willingness to develop independence and to critically examine his/her own work. -The student observes the activities of the laboratory from the point of view of sustainable development -The student's learning diary has been approved
