KL00EO64 Arctic madness - Sustainability in Entrepreneurship (5 cr)
Prerequisites No prerequisites needed.
Objectives The student​
- can search, identify and evaluate the problems and the business opportunities in the field;​
- innovate new solutions to the problems;​
- can use the development tools and create models to search the new solutions;​
- works appropriately in a multidisciplinary team and ​
- describes the utilization possibilities with the business model.​
Content - Researching, understanding and evaluating problems and business opportunities in the business environment​.
- Modelling and validating the solution in a customer-oriented manner and pitching the suggested solution in multidisciplinary teams​.
- Describing how proposed solutions can be turned into new sustainable business models​.
- Evaluating personal contribution and the team's performance​.
- Identifying further study opportunities based on the innovation of the solution​.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods virtual part 5th of Feb at 12-4 pm in Zoom etc.
physical part from 26th of Feb till 2nd of March in Oulu
Execution methods Participation requires commitment to the mandatory virtual part and an intensive week in Oulu.

Evaluation Criteria

pass/fail
The student has completed the given tasks. The student masters the basic concepts and key methodologies related to the innovation process, multidisciplinary teamwork, and business development. The student acts as a responsible team member to deliver innovation. The student can report on the feasibility of the product or service developed. The student can evaluate and reflect on their own and the team's competencies and performance.
