Objectives | The student knows the concepts of welfare technology and is aware of the development of technology and its contribution to society. The student has knowledge of the ethical challenges of welfare technology as well as its potential and visions for occupational therapy. The student familiarizes him/herself with the applications of welfare technology in the field of health and social care. The student is able to describe virtual environment and applications of ICT as enabler for interaction, occupation, learning and rehabilitation. The student is able to plan and implement an assistive or e- technology application. |

pass/fail Admitted: I define the concepts and classifications of welfare technology and name its application areas using appropriate information sources. I identify the development trends of future technologies and examine possible benefits and risks from the perspective of occupational therapy. I analyze the ethical principles related to the use of technology in general and through myself. I analyze technological solutions from the perspective of the health, well-being and rehabilitation of people of different ages. From the perspective of occupational therapy, I recognize the importance of monitoring information for human well-being. I know wearable technology solutions and their uses. I name the possibilities of robotics as an enabler of human activity. I test virtual reality and identify a few possible uses from the perspective of occupational therapy. I know a few technological solutions that use artificial intelligence and I recognize the possibilities of their use. I use a e-technology application solution when implementing e-occupational therapy in a training situation. |
