AT00EN86 Deepened Competence of Show Dance and Pedagogy (20 cr)
Prerequisites If necessary, the starting level suitable for the course objectives is demonstrated with a starting level test, the implementation of which is decided by the head of degree programme after the HOT procedure has been initiated.If necessary, the student, the teacher in charge of the course, tutor teacher, study counsellor / study coordinator / head of degree programme go through the other recommended studies in personal study plan discussions.
Objectives RESPONSIBLE WORK

SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT
Advanced dance technique that shows a deep and versatile mastery of the special skills and dance style of the dance genre.
I apply embodiment and body intelligence in learning and interaction situations.
I produce personal expression suitable for the genre of the dance genre, which is based on a deep mastery of the technique of the dance genre.

PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCE
I develop, create and teach advanced show dance movement material and techniques suitable for learning situations.
I plan, implement and evaluate advanced level show dance teaching in a pedagogically justified manner. I lead and support learning in a teaching situation. I use appropriate professional terminology and help learners perceive terminology and bodily understanding. I choose music suitable for the learning situation. I plan and implement the process of making a show dance composition. I design and implement an entity that increases the understanding of dance knowledge and is suitable for the skill level.
CULTURAL KNOWLEDGE
I analyse the core phenomena related to show dance, teaching culture and methods, and show dance as part of culture and the field of art.
I will tell you about the special characteristics of a dance genre / form related to the show dance genre and its teaching culture.

Content Show dance as an advanced dance skill. Teaching advanced skills in show dance. Peculiarities of show dance culture. Show dance as part of the field of culture and art.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods Participation in contact teaching classes offered by Oamk's dance teacher degree programme, as well as studying and demonstrating competence as described in the implementation plan. OR
Demonstration of acquired competence (HOT). The student starts the HOT procedure in Peppi by preparing a HOT application. The application should be addressed to the tutor teacher or the person responsible for the degree programme in dance teacher education.
Execution methods The primary method of implementation is described in the implementation plan.
Materials The study material can be found in Moodle during the implementation of the course.

I critically and diversely assess the core phenomena related to show dance, teaching culture and methods, and the status of show dance genres as part of the field of popular culture.

The student does not demonstrate competence described in the assessment criteria in sections 1–2 of the assessment criteria for one or more assessment items, or competence cannot be assessed. In this case, the grade is recorded as zero in the study register. The student has two semesters to increase the failed grade from the date of recording the course attainment.
