AT00EN85 Special Competence in Show Dance and Pedagogy (20 cr)

I dance genre-specific advanced dance technique that shows mastery of the special skills and dance style of the dance genre.

PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCE
I apply knowledge of the special characteristics of the dance genre in my own teaching.
I understand the factors affecting the objectives, contents and structure of basic and advanced level show dance teaching.
I plan, implement and evaluate basic and advanced level show dance teaching in a pedagogically justified manner.
I describe the factors influencing the core phenomena of the dance genre, the learning contents and the structure of the dance lesson.
I choose and use rhythmically diverse music suitable for the target group.

In analyzing the dance genres/forms and specifics related to the dance genre, I present new perspectives. I apply a broad knowledge of the dance field and connect show dance to the broader framework of Western dance.

The student does not demonstrate competence described in the assessment criteria in sections 1–2 of the assessment criteria for one or more assessment items, or competence cannot be assessed. In this case, the grade is recorded as zero in the study register. The student has two semesters to increase the failed grade from the date of recording the course attainment.
