AT00EJ03 | Advanced Competence in the Specialisation Dance Genre (10 cr) |
Prerequisites | If necessary, the starting level suitable for the course objectives is demonstrated with a starting level test, the implementation of which is decided by the head of degree programme after the HOT procedure has been initiated. If necessary, the student and the tutor teacher, study counsellor or head of degree programme discuss the other recommended studies in personal study plan discussions. |
Objectives | RESPONSIBLE WORK I act responsibly in the comprehensive development of my skills and follow the agreed schedules. I assess competence development, development needs and strengths. I use professional terminology that is appropriate to the situation and appropriate from the perspective of the target group. I participate in building an atmosphere conducive to learning. SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT A dance genre-specific advanced dance technique that shows mastery of the special skills and dance style of the dance genre. I describe the basic concepts and elements in the context of the dance genre. CULTURAL KNOWLEDGE I analyse the factors influencing the core phenomena of the dance genre and the special characteristics of the dance genre. I apply the knowledge I have acquired in developing my dance skills. I examine how the dance genre has settled into the general history of dance and the field of culture. |
Content | The core phenomena of the basic and advanced level of the specialization dance genre, movement material, dance technique and style(s). Basic and advanced level terminology. Peculiarities of the dance genre. The dance genre as part of the general history and culture of dance. |
Recommended optional programme components | If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan. |
Accomplishment methods | Demonstration of acquired competence (HOT). The student starts the HOT procedure in Peppi by preparing a HOT application. Application is to be addressed to the tutor teacher or to the head of degree programme in dance teacher education. OR Participation in contact teaching classes offered by Oamk's dance teacher education degree programme, as well as studying and demonstrating competence as described in the implementation plan. OR |
