| Prerequisites | The previous training must have been successfully completed. |
| Objectives | PART 1. INTERPROFESSIONAL TEAMWORK (2 ECTS) The student will be able to - recognise the importance of multidisciplinary cooperation, coordinating the activities of different groups in a responsible way. - act responsibly in the role of a supervisor. PART 2. SEMINAR ON ORAL HEALTH CARE FOR PERSONS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS (2 ECTS) The student - demonstrates ability to work as an oral health care professional in a multidisciplinary team. - will be able to describe the specific characteristics of patients belonging to special groups and their relation to oral health - promote the oral health of specific groups in a multidisciplinary way PART 3. PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE AND COMPETENCE OF DENTAL HYGIENIST (11 ETS) The student will be able to - carry out the responsibilities of an dental hygienist in a health centre - to carry out oral health care procedures in a patient-safe manner - evidence-based oral health care - collaborate with health professionals and other stakeholders - achieve competences related to the professional image, based on the objectives of the traineeship. |
| Content | PART 1. INTERPROFESSIONAL TEAMWORK (2 ECTS) - The course is conducted in workshops. - Multidisciplinary cooperation PART 2. SEMINAR ON ORAL HEALTH CARE FOR PERSONS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS (2 ECTS) Specific characteristics of oral health of patients belonging to special groups. Job description and activities of special groups nursing staff in oral health care. Areas of development in oral care and oral health promotion in a multidisciplinary approach. PART 3. PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE AND COMPETENCE OF DENTAL HYGIENIST (11 ETS) Practical training in a multidisciplinary health centre environment in oral health care. |
