Description


OT00DF10 Basics of Social Services (5 cr)
Prerequisites No prerequisites. The studies are also suitable for those who speak Finnish as a second language. Studies include work or practical training in the social services.

The study module 15 ECTS comprises three courses of 5 ECTS credits. They can be studied as additional education for 15 ECTS credits or as separate 5 ECTS credits. Basics of Social work 5 ects, Legislation in social work 5 ects and Social services system 5 ects.
Objectives The student describe the competence and duties of a Bachelor of Social services.
The student will describe the ethical guidelines on the Social services.
The student identify and define welfare policy.
The student recognize clients' everyday lives and activities.
The student apply the client's social inclusion from the perspective of the individual, the community and society.

Welfare and Inclusion 2 - 4 ects or Finnish 2 ects
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods Two tasks. Assignments are attached to a learning diary and portfolio.

The student plans client work professionally and makes ethically sustainable choices.
The student evaluates the sources of information, expert knowledge and legislation in a familiar manner and justifies them by applying and combining theory and possible professional experience.

excellent (5)
The student applies welfare policy in a versatile manner and critically assesses the client's participation, from the perspective of the community and society.
The student plans client work professionally and makes ethically sustainable choices.
The student evaluates the sources of information, expert knowledge and legislation with excellent familiarity and justifies them by applying and combining theory and professional experience.
