7T00DN54 Foster Families and Group Homes (5 cr)
Prerequisites Basic knowledge about the child protection.
Objectives Students know the services of the child protection and multi-professional working. Students analyze the challenges and possibilities of the foster care. Students know the reasons of the custody. Students can justify the use of restriction measures and recognize the Children Rights and the differences between nurture, punishment ja restriction. Students know how to support parenthood during the foster care. Students know the needs of the attachment.
Content The position of the foster care in the services of the child protection. Challenges and possibilities in foster care. Multi-professionality in the child protection. The reasons of the custody. The Children Rights and restriction measures. Supporting parents, foster parents, and parenthood in the foster care. Attachment theory.
