TW00EB39 Production Automation Project (14 cr)

Objectives Student is familiar with functions of different fields of production automation and is capable of planning, implementing and commissioning a typical product automation system. Student knows the conventions for communication, negotiation and documentation as well as basics of business activities in the international production automation field.
Content A complete product automation project. Assignments for the student to deepen his/her competence in such fields of process automation as instrumentation, electric motor drives, programmable logic controllers, buses, user interfaces and manufacturing systems.

You are familiar with communication, negotiation, and documentation practices in production automation environments. You can plan, implement, and commission a typical application using PLC logic.

You can apply the learning tasks of the course in the implementation of your own project. You understand PLC logic programming methods. You are proficient in the typical stages of an automation project from both the supplier's and the client's perspective. You grasp the significance of project scheduling and phases in the implementation of automation.

You can critically evaluate the competence aligned with the course learning objectives based on your own experience and independent information gathering, and further develop it. You implement alternative programming methods.
