Objectives | Student knows the basic concepts of power electronics. Student knows the structures and operations of the most common components used in power electronics devices. Student is able to calculate and measure the voltages and currents of the power electronics circuits. Student knows the key applications of power electronics components. Student is able to use data data in the selection of components. |
Content | Laboratory or simulation exercises are carried out during the course. The course provide capabilities for a future project.Semiconductor components of power electronics, for example power diodes and transistors, triacs and thyristors. Principles of operation, basic features and use of power electronics devices and converters. Component features, selection criteria and protection. Network effects of power electronics devices and the reduction of their interference effects (EMC). Principles for Equalized and Replaced Electricity. Simulation exercises of power electronics circuits. Laboratory exercises or documentation according to the instructions. |
