Description

TS00DX00	Maintenance Engineering (3 cr)
Prerequisites	Basics of road and traffic engineering.
Objectives	The student knows asphalt pavements, their raw materials, pavement desing and pavement construction techniques. He knows the use of different pavement types, their properties and surfase measurement technigues. The student knows the quality requirements of pavements and quality assurance.
Content	Bank Ry. History of asphalt pavement. The function of the consumption layer. Pavement loads. Composition of asphalt pavements. Asphalt pavement design and quality requirements. Coating types and recycled asphalts. Asphalt mass production, transport, spreading and compaction. Pre- and post-work on the coating site. Asphalt pavement quality assurance. PANK-approval and methods. Paving safety. Digitization in paving work.
