| Objectives | The student will have the basic knowledge required in structure design tasks. He can construct the load bearing structural system, determine the loads on buildings and calculate the forces on structural elements. The student is familiar with the code-based control system on construction branch. |
| Content | The design process and the tasks of structural designer. Building codes, legal validity of regulations and guidelines, qualification of designers. Structural systems and load bearing structural elements of buildings. Transfer of loads through structural elements to foundation. Loads and loading combinations. Preparation and presentation of design documents. |
