TF00DW98 Building Planning Basic Competence 2 (14 cr)

Objectives Building Design 7ects
Students understands basics of housing architecture. Can apply housing planning methods and instructions of planning dimensions in housing planning project. Can interpret the urban the building law and town planning in small housing project and draw up the main drawings of a detached house.

House Construction 3 ects
Be able to explain and apply the key concepts of building regulations in detached houses.
Know and be able to explain the typical parts of the foundations, frame and casing of detached houses, their structures and the basics of their operation.
Be able to apply the principles of the physical operation of structures to typical detached house structures and draw up working and detailed drawing-level plans using these sources and design software.
Familiarize yourself with the construction project of detached houses, the stages, plan documents, parties and tasks of the parties in general.
Know the characteristics of detached house projects and the rationale for costing.

Building modelling 2ects
The student is able to produce by modelling the geometry of a detached house as well as the usual level, section and projection drawings as well as 3D visualization images.

Structural design 2ects
The student is able to take into account the importance of the load-bearing frame as part of building design. The student is able to describe the parts of the load-bearing frame of a detached house.
Content Building Design 7 ects
Master plan of a small one family house. The prodecure of building planning, general drawing by modelling. General building construction solutions of one family house. Building materials. Essential building codes. Building permits. Energy efficiency of small buildings. Building costs.

House Construction 3 ects
Area and building parts, structures and building physical characteristics and detailed solutions of small houses.
Structural fire regulations for detached houses
Masonry fireplaces, small chimneys and associated fire regulations.
Special requirements for log construction.
Detached house projects, parties, costs and costing. Building scale concepts and calculations.
Planning documents at the level of working and detailed drawings of the detached house and their preparation.
Site visits.

Building modelling 2 ects
Modelling of a detached house, level, sectional and façade projections, as well as details with drawing markings. Dimensioning the main drawings, creating printing sheets. Printing.

Structural design 2ects
The basics of structural design and the legislation that guides the design. Permanent and variable loads in the building. Parts of the load-bearing frame of a small house.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
