Objectives Building Design:
Progress of building design from the project and sketch design level to data modeling implementation plans supported by building studies.
Be able to apply the methods of modern architecture in the building design tasks of an apartment building.
Know the main points in the history of Finnish apartment building design and construction.

House Design:
To be able to apply structural and space regarded fire- and building regulations in house building.
To be able to make structural choices according to building physical requirements and needs of use and the needs of HVAC sound and fire protection and to be able to adapt them in planning.
To be able to prepare building specification and design documents for interior building construction in conjunction with BIM

Vizualisation:
To be able to formulate drafts and illustrations of multi-storey buildings in cities for marketing purposes and to proceed to working plans and BIM production. To know about computer aided production and to know how to use visual aids.

BIM:
The student is able to create a standard level BIM model for a residential apartment building
Content Building Design: (6 ects)
Energy efficiency solutions in the construction design of apartment buildings.
Urban apartment building design project implementation plans.
Possible design competition related to the theme of the course.

House Design: (6 ects)
Design of architectural details of apartment buildings.
Key structural solutions and building materials for residential apartment buildings.
Fire and construction regulations for structures in apartment buildings.
Implementation plans for residential apartment buildings.

Vizualisation (1ects):
Visualization and BIM modeling in building construction production.

BIM (2 ects)
Program areas, area areas, total building areas, departments, volumes. Main, working and detail drawing prints.
Space and building envelope data for energy simulation.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
