Prerequisites Professional studies in Nuclear medicine and PET_CT must be passed (including drug dosage calculation).
Objectives Student is be able to plan, carry out and evaluate most common nuclear medicine examinations and treatments in a high-quality, safe and optimised manner.
The student is able to use the equipment and methods of the examinations appropriately and responsibly.
The student knows the principles of safe and aseptic preparation of radio-pharmaceuticals.
The student is able to document the examination to ensure continuity of care.
The student is able to apply different guidance methods to guide patients individually throughout the examination process in the most common nuclear medicine examinations and treatments.
The student is able to work flexibly as a part of the team, taking into account the patient's condition and situation.
The student is able to work as a member of a team, demonstrating good work life skills.
The student is able to implement radiation safety culture and identify radiation safety issues.
The student is able to act in accordance with the safety practices of the unit.
The student recognises the emergency preparedness of the unit and is able to work as part of a team in emergency situations.
The student is be able to implement infection control methods in his/her practice.
The student is self-directed and take responsibility for his/her own learning.
The student is responsible in maintaining confidentiality of patient data and comply with data protection policies.
The student is able to act in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.
Content Clinical training in nuclear medicine department including patient guidance before, during and after the examination according to radiation protection principles. Patient centered performing of nuclear medicine and PET-CT examinations. Preparing of radio pharmaceutical. Handling and storage of radioactive waste. Safe and economical use of imaging devices. Advanced special task. First aid test.
