Description

OQ00DY30	Radiation Therapy and Treatment Planning (3 cr)
Prerequisites	The student has passed the professional studies (including drug dose calculation) of radiotherapy.
Objectives	The student masters the core content related to radiation therapy planning and carrying out the treatment. The student is able to search international research related to the art of radiation therapy and apply the results of them. The student identifies the meaning of his/her personal development in delivering the art of radiation therapy. The student is able to apply the principles of financially and ecologically sustainable development. The student is able to work in an interprofessional group.
Content	Carrying out the art of radiation therapy. Special features of care for patients undergoing radiation therapy. Radiation therapy treatment planning. Good care and ethical issues in radiation therapy. Radiographer as the realiser of interprofessional collaboration.
Recommended optional programme components	If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods	The student demonstrates competence through learning assignments.
Execution methods	The student develops skills by actively learning, acquiring knowledge and practising.
