Description

OQ00DW21	Ultrasound examinations and breast cancer diagnostics and treatments (3 cr)
Prerequisites	The student has passed the professional studies of mammography and ultrasound imaging. The student has passed professional studies of anatomy and physiology, including topographic anatomy.
Objectives	The student masters the key contents and ethical actions related 1) to the breast cancer patients interprofessional healthcare path involving breast cancer diagnostics and treatments and 2) to the use of ultrasound equipment and to the special features of nursing care of the person undergoing ultrasound examination. The student can carry out basic mammography examinations and interventions and basics of an adult ultrasound examinations. The student can apply nursing care knowledge to the special features of the person undergoing radiological breast cancer diagnostics and treatments. The student knows features of sonography in different countries in Europa. The student is able to apply the principles of financially and ecologically sustainable development.
Content	Breast cancer diagnostics and treatment planning. The special features of nursing care of a person undergoing radiological breast cancer diagnostics and treatments. Ethical issues. Quality assurance in ultrasound examinations. Protocols of an adult´s ultrasound examinations. The special features of nursing care of the person undergoing ultrasound examination. Ethical issues.
