Description

OS00DX02	Nursing competencies and Leadership of Nursing - Practical Training (6 cr)
Prerequisites	The student has completed at least 160 credits 163 credits are required to sit the national examination for the core nursing competences.
Objectives	1. I know how strategy and quality systems guide my own work and the work of different organisations - public, corporate and third sector. 2. I can describe and analyse local management and management methods in the social and health sector in different organisations. 3. I know how social and health services are organised. I can assess the costs and profitability of organisations' operations and service provision. 4. I understand my role in the implementation and development of evidence-based practice. 5. Master the core competencies of nursing
Content	Management and Leadership in Social and Health Services 3 cr -Leadership and management methods, strategy and quality system and self-monitoring as part of the activities. -The specificities of entrepreneurship in the social services, regulatory supervision and employee liability -Multi-professional teamwork and team management, organisation of services and quality from the client's point of view. Core competences in nursing 3 cr Proficiency test of general nursing competencies.
Recommended optional programme components	If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods	Active participation in the required coursework and simulation exercises. Passing the national examination of the core competencies of nursing. Completion of the course-specific competencies with a pass.
Execution methods	Demonstration of Nursing Skills - simulation exercises, the national YleSH examination of core nursing skills and other tasks assigned during the course. To be announced in more detail during the course

Evaluation Criteria	pass/fail 1. Management and leadership in social and health care -I understand the importance of strategy and quality systems in my work, in the management of nursing care and in the work of different organisations. -I can independently assess my own management skills and responsibilities as an employee and analyse the most typical management methods. Act professionally in challenging situations of interaction and be able to examine situations with regard to the importance of leadership and subordinate skills in work communities -I understand the organisation and structure of social and health services, the specificities of entrepreneurship in the social and health sector and the ability to assess the efficiency and profitability of activities. -I understand the differences between efficiency and productivity and the importance of cost awareness. 2.Demonstration of core competences in nursing 3 cr 3. Yle-Sh national exam I will describe and justify my role in the implementation of evidence-based practice and development. Act and justify my expertise in my field in a multidisciplinary team.
