LM00EB23 Forest Industry and Timber Logging (5 cr)
Prerequisites Course Forest Stand Level Planning or similar skills
Objectives Student plans the timber sales from the perspective of a forest owner. Student masters the basic information related to the harvesting equipment and conditions and is able to evaluate the implementation of timber harvesting. Student identifies the current wood use patterns in the forest industry as well as possible future trends and new opportunities for economic utilization of forests. Student defines sites entitled for subsidies according to the Act on Financing of Sustainable Forestry is available.

Student knows how to classify different wood trade methods and knows their differences. Student recognizes basic information related to harvesting equipment and conditions, as well as the criteria for evaluating the implementation of wood harvesting. Student knows the most common ways of using wood in the forest industry and the criteria for sites for which subsidies defined in the Act on Financing of Sustainable Forestry is available.
