LM00DP96 Rural Environment Assesment (5 cr)
Prerequisites Mandatory studies related to soil and plant production in the first year of the Degree Programme in Agricultural and Rural Industries or equivalent knowledge.
Objectives Student understands requirements of environmental legislation for rural enterprise.
Student understands the meaning of biodiversity for rural environment.
Student identifies farming subsidies enhancing environmental protection and biodiversity.
Student assesses landscape and nature of rural areas as a resource for biodiversity.
Content Environmental administration and legislation for farms and rural areas
Agricultural subsidies as a tool for environmental management
Identification of rural landscape values
Open data and maps supporting evaluation of the environment
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
