LM00BS00	Development of Rural Livelihoods (15 cr)
Prerequisites	Not applicable
Objectives	Student is familiar with the operating environment of a chosen rural livelihood. Student can collect and process information and development needs for a project plan. Student is familiar with development methods, development programs, types of projects and tools of project planning. Student can draw up a project plan in English for the topic. Student is acquainted with funding opportunities concerning the chosen livelihood.
Content	Actors and responsibilities Baseline analysis, survey of development needs and background Project budgeting Development programmes Funding programmes Project plan and goal setting Service design
Recommended optional programme components	If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods	Project based studies in groups.
Execution methods	Students will work in groups on a project assignment. The commissioner of the project is an enterprise or a working life organization.
Materials	The students find relevant information and use for example different database, research, and tools needed to complete the project.

Evaluation Criteria	excellent (5) The assessment is based on the end products of the project (e.g. plan, report, presentation, poster) and on the student’s performance as a group member, the quality and amount of his/her contribution.
