Objectives | Student knows the impact of climate and soil fertility on plant production. Student commands outlines of plant anatomy and physiology. Student is able to identify the most common crops, weeds, seeds, plant diseases and pests. Student is familiar with tillage and harvesting methods and soil types and their cultivation properties. Student knows principles of crop rotation and soil water management. Student understands significance of nutrients and liming on crops. He/she is able to read soil analyses and calculate fertilizer and liming requirements. He/she is able to utilize animal manure for crops. Student can take account of environmental aspects of fertilizing. Student can analyze quality of seed. |
