TK00DM06 Machine Control System (5 cr)
Prerequisites Basics of PLC programming and programming or corresponding skills.
Objectives The student is able to implement machine control with an automation system
Creating source code of an application program by structured text (ST) programming language according to standard IEC 61131-3
Simulate application program on your computer
Monitor and troubleshoot the application program
Download the program to device
Utilize user interfaces (HMI and GUI) as part of an application program
Connect application program variables to physical hardware
Content Use of the development environment of the automation system, design and implementation of the application program, structure of the automation system, different input and output signals and their processing in the application program, operation of the actuator, utilization of interfaces
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.

You design and implement different simple application programs for a machine control application in a development environment. You understand the concept of IO.

good (3-4)
You verify and troubleshoot the functionality of your program by motoring and uploading it to the automation system. You use the IO interface and the user interface to produce and indicate status data.

excellent (5)
You are able to create and evaluate alternative solutions to implement the application program as described. You commission an actuator and use it as part of your application. You use different user interfaces. You know how to use different IO signals in applications.
