Objectives	You know and use the regulations, regulations and guidelines for periodic inspection of heavy duty vehicles 2. You know and use the inspection review criteria for periodic inspection of heavy duty vehicles and assessment of vehicle defects 3. You operate according to a high-quality periodic inspection process. 4. You are able to use the right working methods taking into account occupational safety. The course can also be completed without the degree objective of a heavy vehicle inspector. The content and objectives are the same, but there is no obligation to participate and work experience requirement set by the education supervisory authority. In this case, the student's performance is reported to the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom).
Content	Provisions, regulations and guidelines for periodic inspection of heavy duty vehicles. Inspection areas in periodic inspection and assessment of defects. Working methods and occupational safety. Purpose and operation of technical equipment for heavy duty vehicles. Structural changes and taxation of heavy-duty vehicles. Purpose and operation of active and passive vehicle restraint systems. Vehicle traffic register and its use. Challenges of new vehicle technology in inspection work. Customer service development Ensuring and monitoring the quality of inspection work, practical measures. A student with a degree from a light vehicle examiner and with at least six months' inspection experience may, after completing the course successfully, participate in an internship that further enables progress towards the heavy duty vehicle inspector’s degree
