Objectives | The student can apply creative design engineering methods. S/he is able to define the basic phases of a product development process and estimate the business potential of a product idea. S/he can describe an innovation process and ways to prototype concepts. The student knows the basic use of a CAD system in solid modelling. S/he is able to create 3D models of simple mechanical parts and assemblies. S/he is able to create engineering drawings of single parts and assemblies. The student is able communicate in English in situations typical to a mechanical engineer. S/he is able to present results of a product development process in English. |
Content | - Basics of 3D-modelling 3 ECTS Software and hardware of a common Computer Aided Design (CAD) system. Usage of a 3D CAD system in modelling of mechanical parts and assemblies. Making of the drawings. - Innovative Product Development 4 ECTS Creative design engineering methods. Inventions and innovation process. Phases of product development. Product concept prototyping. Basics of a business plan. - Professional English Communication 3 ECTS Cultural differences in working life related to the specific professional field. Communicative situations in working life related to the specific professional field. Authentic study resources related to the specific professional field. |
