Objectives | The student has the basics of pharmacology and drug toxicology and is able to apply them in his/her work. The student will understand and describe the effects of drugs in the body and the behaviour of drugs in the body. The student will have a good understanding of the characteristics and clinical use of the main groups of medicinal products |
Content | Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics: the phases of drugs in the body and the factors affecting them, the modes and sites of action of drugs in the body. Autonomic nervous system, cardiovascular drugs (hypertension, coronary heart disease, heart failure), antithrombotic drugs, dyslipidemic drugs, pulmonary drugs, antihistamines, anti-inflammatory drugs and paracetamol, dermatological drugs, immunomodulators, sex hormones and contraception, antidiabetics, gastrointestinal drugs, sedatives and sleeping pills, antipsychotics, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's drugs), opioids, cancer treatment, antimicrobials, adverse drug reactions, drug interactions, rational drug therapy, introduction to toxicology, clinical toxicology. |
