Description
TG00CS02 | Wind Power (5 cr) |
Prerequisites | Not applicable |
Objectives | Student knows community/regional planning and construction permit matters of building wind power. Strudent knows environmental impact assessment (EIA) process. Student knows principles of building wind power and construction of wind turbine. The knowledge of using 3d-cad modelling softwares will be improved. |
Content | - Slecting a location of wind turbine - Local wind conditions - Basics of wind turbine's electrical engineering - Mechanical structure of wind turbines - Basics of designing turbine blade (relation to the fluid mechanics) - Cad-modelling of mechanical parts - Basic simulations of fluid mechanics - FEM-analysis using sofware - Measurements with a small scale wind turbine |
Recommended optional programme components | If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan. |
Accomplishment methods | Student groups prepare a report which will be evaluated. Results will be presented. |
Execution methods | Class room teaching. Group working. Measurements with small scale wind turbine. |
