Description
TG00CP63 | Material Technology (5 cr) |
Prerequisites | No prerequisites needed |
Objectives | The student is familiar with the typical materials used in energy technology. She/he recognizes the importance of material selection during the design process. With proper material selection the wear and corrosion damages can be minimized. Material and mainteneance lifetime costs can be optimized. Student has basicc knowledge of damages types of machinery of energy tehcnology and inspection methods used to find damages. Student recognizes the most common corrosion types and understands the importance of the water quality in various water systems. Student knows the circumstances, which might promote corrosion and how to avoid them. |
Content | The typical materials used in energy technology. Material selection. Common damage types and prevention methods. Non destructive inspection methods. Corrosion types. Corrosion laboratory analysis |
