Description


OE00DN30 Clinical Practicum in Acute Nursing and Prehospital Emergency Care Project (5 cr)
Prerequisites Not applicable
Objectives 1) Student can carry out emergency care projects based on evidence based methods and knowledge.
2) Student is able to plan and carry out project with well-defined goals and outcomes. Student can solve problems together with project team.
3) Student can coordinate his/her own work with others. Student is capable to evaluate project work results.
Content - Principles of working in project.
- Writing the project plan. Collective accountability. Getting things done on time, establish priorities to meet deadlines. Team work principles.
- Evaluating the project. Writing a project report.
Recommended optional programme components If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan.
Accomplishment methods ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF PERFORMANCE:

Plan-based, goal-oriented training
- In a project commissioned by the work life partner
- Project(s) provided by the school.
- Project work in an employment relationship (emergency care, emergency nursing)
- Project work in a wider project
- Project work in a CT traineeship
Execution methods The project studies can be completed in one project of 5 credits (135 h), which can be carried out as a commissioned project, for example. It is also possible to accumulate 5 credits by completing several smaller projects (e.g. e-learning in schools, open doors, etc.).

The delivery method may be a work placement in a prehospital emergency care or similar appropriate health care setting and a development task there, in which the student participates in an agreed role and demonstrates his/her participation and competence according to the objectives.

THE STUDENT:
1. takes the initiative in project work, using an investigative and developmental approach
- participates in project meetings and workshops
- is able to search for information on the subject of the project
- is an active participant in meetings and workshops
- actively participates in the preparation of the project plan
- can use project methodology literature in the preparation of the project plan

2. carries out small-scale projects based on evidence-based methods, applying existing knowledge and skills in the field of emergency and acute care,
- works in a project team in accordance with the work plan
- performs agreed tasks with care and within the agreed timeframe
- informs the project team of the progress of tasks and any problems without delay
- can assess the relevance, reliability and suitability of the information to be used
- is able to support the project team through his/her activities

3. Evaluate project results and the work process
- contributes to the preparation of a project report
- uses methodological literature in the preparation of the project report
- evaluates the results of the project in relation to the objectives set
- evaluates the project work process
- evaluates his/her own learning
