ON00DV37 | Perioperative Nursing II (5 cr) |
Prerequisites | Level I and Level II studies are completed without deficits or have completed 140 credits of nursing studies and have passed the demonstration of competence in nursing. Perioperative Nursing I completed. Anesthesiology and critical care medicine/ surgery and anesthesiology (or equivalent) are completed without deficits. |
Objectives | The student is able to: • master the key knowledge and skills required in the perioperative nurse's work, be able to make decisions, and work independently as a perioperative nurse; • plan, implement and evaluate demanding perioperative nursing work ethically and safely using reliable evidence-based information; • work as a responsible nurse in the work unit, as a team leader, and as a coordinator of the overall care of the patient; • work as a part of the perioperative team during the phases of the perioperative process; and • evaluate and develop personal skills and professional action in a goal-oriented manner. |

Further Information | Students choose their advanced studies in nursing according to their own career plans. Students should familiarise themselves beforehand with the educational and skills requirements that employers have set for nurses in different workplaces. If the student intends to work in the operating theatre, it is recommended to take both Perioperative Nursing I and II. Information about the selection process and enrolment for advanced studies will be provided in advance. |
