Prerequisites | Level I studies are either in progress or have been completed without any deficits. |
Objectives | Chronic Care Nursing The student is able to: • describe common chronic diseases and recognize the risk and protective factors contributing to their development; • develop nursing care plans for patients with chronic diseases and offer evidence-based guidance using the nursing process; • explain the significance of palliative care for terminally ill patients and provide support to their next of kin; and • identify characteristics of chronic diseases, including epidemiology, etiology, and associated medical treatment(s). Microbiology, Pathology, and Pathophysiology The student is able to: • describe the pathology and pathophysiology of prevalent chronic diseases; • discuss the structure and function of microorganisms; and • explain the fundamentals of the immune system. |

Recommended optional programme components | If necessary, the student advisor will recommend optional programme components for each student based on their individual study plan. |
Accomplishment methods | Written Examination |
Execution methods | In the domain of Chronic Care Nursing, the course will be executed through a combined approach of theoretical and skills development. Theoretical aspects will be conducted through a hybrid lecture format coupled with opportunities for international collaborative engagement. Complementary to this, the skills practice will encompass practices such as public speaking, debates, and completion of written assignments, all underscored by the application of critical thinking methodologies. |
Materials | Evidence-based materials will be available in the online learning environment. |
