ON00DU89 Research Methods in Nursing Science: Quantitative Research (3 cr)
Prerequisites Level I studies is ongoing or passed without deficits
Objectives The student is able to:

• plan the data collection of quantitative research and implement an online survey;
• use online surveys and analysis tools independently to process and analyse data;
• apply statistical methods and interpret the results;
• basic methods of statistical deduction in the analysis of research problems;
• write a quantitative research report; and
• evaluate ethical issues and reliability of quantitative research.
Content • Basic concepts of statistics
• Steps of the quantitative research process
• Data collection
• Use of survey and analysis tool
• Analysis methods and choice of the suitable method
• Comparison of groups, and repeated measures
• Examination of correlation
• Ethical considerations in quantitative research
• Reliability and validity in quantitative research
• Reporting of results
