Prerequisites | Previous courses of Degree Programme in Information Technology or equivalent skills |
Objectives | The student is able to use vector algebra and matrix algebra as well as statistics and probability when programming software. The student is able to use web programming frameworks to create web applications. The student understands the benefits of using a framework when building complex web applications and is able to describe what an application framework is and how it works. The student is able to use the features offered by modern cloud services when implementing software solutions. The student is also able to describe the advantages and disadvantages of using different cloud services. The student understands the differences of cloud computing categories, such as IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. Foreign students: The student can communicate in Finnish language in easy and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar matters. The student understands different kinds of short texts. The student has a more detailed knowledge of Finnish language and culture. Finnish students: The student is developing his/her skills in Finnish language and communication in different communicative situations of the professional field. |
Content | Applied Mathematics (3 ECTS): Vector algebra, matrix algebra and statistics and probability. Web Frameworks (6 ECTS): Implementing web applications with a framework. Cloud Services (3 ECTS): Modern cloud service techniques, their features and exploitability in different purposes. Foreign students: Finnish Language and Culture 3 (3 ECTS): More demanding grammatical structures, oral and written activities related to professional situations and some Finnish working life vocabulary. Finnish students: Advanced Communication Skills (3 ECTS): Literal and oral communication situations integrated into other contents of current studies of the degree program Exchange students: Finnish Language and Culture 1 (3 ECTS): The basics of Finnish language and communication styles and also the basics of Finnish everyday culture and habits. |
