KB00BP36 eBusiness and Digital Marketing Competences (10 cr)

Objectives Student understands basic rules of the internet based competition to business and its marketing in the digital era. Student learns basic competencies to understand e-business and digital marketing and the principles of legal issues relating those.

Areas of Competence:
E-Business: The student can tell the basic concepts e-business, understands e-business models and e-strategies and how competition in the Internet affects to formalization of those. The student can describe and identify relevant factors of e-environment that drive the e-business performance. The student can describe the process of building an e-store. The student can describe how to use the Internet and e-marketing tools to promote business and analyze e-retailing business.

Digital Marketing: Student understands basics, theories and methods of marketing and understands how they are used in marketing planning. After the course student can explain the meaning of marketing digitalization and the basic strategies of marketing.

Data Protection, Intellectual Property Rights and Digital Rights Management: The student knows how to act responsibly when processing personal data. The student is capable to explain the main principles of the data protection and is also capable to apply them. The students knows about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), phenomenon of piracy/counterfeiting and what legal measures can be taken.
Content Areas of Competence:
E-Business: The basic concepts of e-business, e-business models and e-strategies. The relevant factors of internet, systems, software and ecosystems that drive the e-business. The use of the Internet and basic digital marketing tools to promote business.

Digital Marketing: Digital marketing basic terms, characteristics and ecosystems. Basic characteristics of digital products, pricing, distribution and management. Special elements of digital marketing communication, channels planning, strategies and communication.

Data Protection, Intellectual Property Rights and Digital Rights Management: The Requirements of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). Piracy. Digital Rights Management (DRM).
