KB00BP35 Business Interaction and Design Competences (10 cr)
Prerequisites Not applicable
Objectives The student is able to recognize his/her own competences as a source of multiple possibilities. The student is able to apply his/her competences in job search, career planning and can market those recognized competences accordingly. Furthermore, the student can manage in various situations requiring negotiation skills and is able to design visual communication to support his/her (oral and written) interaction with another party.

Areas of Competence:

Employablity Skills: The student can identify his/her own competences on the basis of the current education, previous (work) experiences and earlier studies. The student can apply his/her competences on a vacancy and can market his/her comptences, knowledge and skills. The student becomes familiar with the job application process, and is able to prepare adequately for a job application, a CV and a job interview. The student can identify his/her own competence and can market it.

Business Negotiation Skills: Students learn negotiation skills as part of the buying and selling process; they know of the role of various cultures, interaction and negotiation techniques and strategic behavior in intercultural negotiations.

Graphical Design Tools:
a) Image Editing: The student is able to edit digital pictures in separate media and in separate formats. The student is able to produce and edit image files. The student is able to utilize the possibilities offered by image editing
programs.
b) Publishing using InDesign: The student is able to use graphical design software to create professional marketing material as flyers and brochures. The student is able to name the main phases in producing a publication and understands some principles of graphic design.

Employablity Skills: Professional self-awareness and self-analysis, recognition of competences, career options and planning, job application process, job seeking methods, job application, job interview, CV, tests, marketing own skills and competences.

Business Negotiation Skills: Negotiator profiles, practical negotiation situations, negotiations process and structure, argumentation, negotiations across cultures, interpersonal and group communication, presentation skills, report writing skills (minutes, memo).

Graphical Design Tools:
a) Image Editing: The student is able to use graphical design software to create professional marketing material as flyers and brochures. The student is able to name the main phases in producing a publication and understands some principles of graphic design.
b) Publishing using InDesign: Essential tools of graphic design software. Producing a publication. Principles in graphic design.
