Objectives | The students understands the basics of Marketing, Sales and Accounting, and their role in business. Areas of Competence: Introduction to Marketing: Student knows the basic concepts of marketing and understands customer-oriented marketing thinking. The student is able to familiarize herself with innovative skills and development tasks (Innostart). Introduction to Selling: Student understands the role of selling in business and begins to develop personal selling skills. Introduction to Accounting: The aim of the course is to give the student an introduction to the basic principles of financial accounting. |
Content | This module may contain practical assignment(s)/project(s) from working life. Areas of Competence: Introduction to Marketing: Marketing thinking, marketing environment, consumer behavior, segmentation and marketing mix. Participation in InnoStart event (student team) at Oamk Business Department. Introduction to Selling: General requirements for a salesperson and selling, different selling situations, selling process, selling skills. Introduction to Accounting: Introducing businesses and their accounting systems. Accounting law and other regulations harmonized with EC directives. Basic rules of double-entry book-keeping and annual closing of the books. Formal presentation of financial statements. |
