MD00EH86 Performance Arts Innovation, Production and Practice (10 cr)

Objectives The student will explore a comprehensive range of concepts, methods and international best practices relating to production and practice for innovation in performance arts. The student will be exposed to various production practices, models and new trends within a range of arts and cultural production disciplines relating to live arts and performance. The course will support students to test and articulate advancements in production methods associated with his/her chosen discipline.
Content Course content will focus on introducing content associated with the production cycles for developing live art installations and performances. Components will cover production process and concepts from initial design work with creative teams, to planning and rehearsal work and event marketing and communications. The course will additionally explore facets of production work which utilizes digital tools and methods in various artistic fields from theatre, to film and music (5 ECTS). Opportunities will be afforded to students to explore use cases and chose a particular production context for assignment work. Assigned tasks will be connected with team exercises and individual work relating to thesis topics (5 ECTS).
