OB00ED79 | Practical Training in Biomedical Laboratory Science I (9 cr) |
Prerequisites | Prior studies must have been completed before starting the training |
Objectives | The student knows the organization, facilities, and tasks of the traineeship. The student works as part of a work community and actively participates in the work and follows the rules of the work community. The student can guide clients, take blood samples independently using different techniques, and assess the quality of the sample. The student follows the ethical principles and is able to use the theoretical knowledge learned in the work. The student can take ergonomics, patient safety and safety at work into account in their work. The student can handle samples accurately, preserves and transports them in accordance to the instructions. The student can record an ECG from an adult and assess the quality of registrations. The student will be introduced to point of care tests, their internal quality control and external quality assessment and physiological examinations according to the laboratory's range of tests. The student can use the laboratory information system supervised and can evaluate their own professional development and interaction skills during the training. |

pass/fail The student has passed the level test. The student knows the organization, facilities, and tasks of the traineeship. The student is able to work as part of a work community with high quality and reliability, following workplace guidelines. The student can take care of patient and work safety and ergonomics. The student can advise patients for laboratory tests, considering the requirements of pre-analytics. The student can collect and process samples and assess the quality of samples. The student can record ECG in adults. The student can use the general information systems of the laboratory supervised. |
