Objectives | The student knows the basics of laboratory work and can use basic laboratory equipment safely. The student is familiar with the basics of occupational health and safety and take into account environmental and safety aspects in the work. The student will be familiar with the principles of electrochemical methods and be able to perform microscopy. The student will be able to explain the quality requirements for water used in the laboratory and understand the principles of safe handling of chemicals and preparation of solutions. |
Content | Basic laboratory facilities and equipment. Measuring, weighing, centrifugation and microscopy. Pipetting and pipetting ergonomics. Safe use of chemicals. Professional mathematics in the use of chemicals and the preparation of solutions. Laboratory water quality. Equipment maintenance. Biological hazards, electrical and fire safety. Basics of waste management. Occupational health and safety legislation. |
