Objectives | The student has knowledge of the basic concepts concerning inorganic and organic chemistry and the regularity of chemical phenomena. The student familiarizes him/herself with the system of organic compounds, recognises the most important types of organic compounds and has an understanding of their characters and behaviour. The student develops skills in understanding biosciences and the applications in his/her line of work. |
Content | The structure of atoms; periodic system; chemical compounds and chemical bonding; solution calculations; chemical reactions; proteolysis; oxidation and reduction. Formation of organic molecules; reaction types of organic molecules; isomerism. Hydrocarbons: alkanes; alkylenes; alkenes; aromaticity. Derivative hydrocarbons: alcohols; phenols; ethers; carbonyl compounds; amines; amides. Macromolecules. |
