| Objectives | 1. The student applies the multidisciplinary knowledge of gerontology in one's own field. 2. The student knows the most important social, health and welfare services of older people. The student knows the most important laws, recommendations and programmes. 3. The student evaluates effects of the most important geriatric diseases on the functional capacity of the elderly person. The student applies his/her knowledge of geriatrics to evaluate the need for care of an older client and in evidence-based decision making in different environment. 4.The student deepens his/her knowledge of ethical principals in elderly care and implements decision making that supports participation of elderly persons in particular for elderly persons from vulnerable client groups. 5.The student analyzes and evaluates current challenges in gerontological nursing / elderly care and the need for changes in the future in different environment from the point of views: older people, relatives, staff and management. |
